ION Locums Form

ION Locums, operated by the Independent Ophthalmic Network (ION) has been established to provide:
• Ophthalmologist locum opportunities to ION practice owners
• Practice partnership opportunities
• Overseas Fellowship assistance
• Career counselling and practice set-up advice
ION Locums is available to ION members and any ION specialist in training, except in the instance of a
contractual agreement or a signed ‘heads of agreement’ with a corporate entity.
The priority is to assist and facilitate the career of younger specialists and practice owners who wish to
follow a non corporate pathway.
The ION group has around 200 members, and represents 20% of the ophthalmic workforce
