Key Objectives of ION
- Facilitate a forum for an alternative voice to that provided by publicly listed corporatised ophthalmology.
- Enable an opportunity for the sharing of education and training in an independent company practice model.
- The potential to lobby decision makers and opinion leaders on issues that affect private practices, and be able to give our perspective to associated bodies such as the Society of Ophthalmologists and RANZCO.
- Encourage programs that will assist young registrars to enter private practice, through mentoring programs.
- Ensure that registrars entering private practice have access to the widest and most comprehensive range of Ophthalmic procedure training.
